From Royalty to Shellfish: How the Creators of ‘The King Is Peeping’ Are Clawing Their Way to Fame with ‘The Crab Is Strutting’ – A Reporter’s Shell-shocked Take!

Hold onto your clawed hats, folks, because the mad scientists over at Hypnohead—those delightful wizards of weird—are at it again! This time, they’ve whipped up a fresh concoction that has the gaming world doing the cha-cha! Introducing: The Crab Is Walking! Yep, you read that right: we’re not just talking any old roguelite city-builder here; we’re diving into a bizarre wonderland where you’re slapping tetromino-shaped blocks on the back of a giant shellfish and unleashing Mad Max wannabes to wreak havoc on the insect overlords of the wasteland! And the best part? You can basically let this crustacean city run itself while you sit back and binge-watch the latest reality TV disaster. Life goals, right?

Now, let’s take a moment to imagine the brainstorming sessions that led us from one game to the next. “The King Is Wattling? The King Is Swatching? No, no, too boring! Kings don’t walk; they have mansion-sized thrones! How about a lion? Nope! You can’t build a city on a lion! Have you seen their spines? But a crab? Now we’re talking—ideal flat surface for urban development!” They definitely weren’t high on caffeine when they came up with this one. And seriously, guys, one of the “monstrous” creatures in their promo shots is actually a spider! That’s basically a slap in the face to crab fans everywhere. Check out this trailer and prepare yourself for a shell-shocking experience.

They promise a “deep strategy paired with quick runs.” Who said gaming can’t be an emotional rollercoaster? In each playthrough, you’ll select a new Adventure and a unique Rider (yes, a Rider, not a sidekick—in case you thought this was an episode of some questionable buddy cop show). Every duo brings its own flavor, so you better “play to your strengths” unless you want to painfully discover that you’ve just built an entire city on the back of a snail. “The rabbit was fast. The turtle was steady. And then there’s you, rocking a giant crab!” Put that on a motivational poster alongside a picture of a cat wearing a monocle. If this isn’t the most unhinged sales pitch you’ve ever heard, then I’ll eat my own gaming console!

When you’re not out there battling the sandy drama queens, you’ll be madly arranging and merging districts on a grid like a demented architect on a sugar high. The battle system is a chaotic cloud of autobattling nonsense, but how it all fits together is a delicious mystery—think of it as a puzzle wrapped in bacon, dipped in ring of fire.

In a thrilling twist of fate, those delightfully quirky developers explained why they’re not (yet) crafting The King Is Watching 2: “We’re still pouring our hearts into The King Is Enjoying and slinging out new content faster than a crab in a sushi restaurant. Our next update will jump into gameplay variety better than a pogo stick at a bounce house party!” They went on to promise that “The Crab Is Walking gives us the freedom to be wonderfully bonkers,” which sounds amazing unless you’re afraid of haywire pixel art animations that might melt your screens! Seriously, can we get a crab-themed K-Pop music video while we’re at it?

As for when this crustacean crusade will hit the shores? Well, if you’re ready to mark your calendars for 2027—yes, that’s a “Clawsome” decade from now—you’re in for a wild ride. In the meantime, obsess over more details on Steam.
