Witch and the Mercenary just popped its enigmatic trailer like a surprise piñata filled with magical fireworks! It’s a tapestry of adventure, mystery, and probably a side of popcorn that could rival a small mountain. So get this: it’s hitting your screens in April 2027! Yes, folks, FOUR years from now—plenty of time to buy that popcorn and get a second job as a wizard’s apprentice just to afford it!

Now, brace yourselves for the fresh faces entering this bizarre bazaar of enchantment! Get ready to drool over:

Yuri Noguchi as the mysteriously brooding Isana Geihorn—she probably has a sad backstory and a pet crow named Edgar.

Hiromu Mineta as the not-at-all-basic Alan Close—his daringness probably involves jumping off cliffs for “fun.”

Haruka Shiraishi as the dazzlingly gorgeous and enigmatic Elsia Amet—like, *eyes-covering-beauty-level* gorgeous!

The hunky Taito Ban is sliding into Zig Crane’s suave boots, while the fabulous Saori Hayami is back to sprinkle her magic dust as Siasha. And get this: you can hear their voices in a trailer that will have your ears dancing like they just downed five cups of coffee!

But wait—there's more! Two brand-spankin’-new teaser visuals just dropped, serenading your eyes with graphics so stunning you might just ditch your therapist for a spell. One image drills into Siasha's very soul (creepy, right?), while the other flaunts some serious attitude with Zig. They even nod to the light novel's original cover like it just graduated from wizarding school. Art level: Sorcery!

Our tale follows these two misfits, sworn enemies at first—because what’s more fun than a good ol’ “I can’t stand you, but let’s search for hot cocoa”? As they team up to battle magical chaos and creatures that look like they crawled out of your worst nightmares, the stakes couldn’t get higher. Will they survive? Will they find that cozy vibe they’re looking for? Spoiler alert: it’s probably gonna get messy!

The show is whipped up by the genius Shinpei Ezaki at studio 8bit—yes, the very same studio that probably has a secret stash of magical snacks. We’ve got Daishiro Tanimura brewing up the plot, Keita Matsumoto sketching those jaw-dropping characters, and Rei Ishizuka composing the kind of music that makes you feel things—like the urge to fight a dragon or take a nap (maybe both!).

This wild ride is based on the light novel series by Chohokiteki Kaeru (whose name literally screams “I’m a wizard!”). And, oh yeah, there’s also a manga adaptation by the talented Makoto Miyagi, making this a multi-platform magic extravaganza! Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed both adaptations and describes the saga as:

Nothing in this world is more dangerous than a witch. The ultimate terror, capable of summoning storms, raining fireballs, or even making your grilled cheese sandwich soggy. Mess with them, and you’ll find out just how unsafe 'safe spaces' really are.

At least, that’s the rumor! Tired of fighting for her life, our fierce witch Siasha joins forces with Zig, the mercenary who’s somehow cooler than your average action hero and definitely more stylish. Together, they’re off to explore uncharted magical territories, but will they bite off more than they can chew? Who knows, but it’s bound to be a rollercoaster of chaos!
