Shangri-La Frontier Season 3 is back and it’s about to explode onto your screens in a way that requires both shades and a helmet! Circle January 10, 2027, on your calendars, folks, because this anime joyride is charging straight into a double-decker thrill ride of chaos – yes, you read that right! Prepare your joystick because the Galaxia Heroes: Chaos action is returning, and it’s about to get wilder than a cat in a room full of laser pointers!
Once again, the animation sorcerers at Studio C2C are whipping up eye candy that’ll make you question if it’s legal to look this good. They dropped this news like it was a hot potato after the Season 2 finale – and you bet we were clutching our pearls like desperate anime goldfish, gasping for air! For those of you with an attention span shorter than a goldfish, here’s a refresher: the first season of Shangri-La Frontier was like that cozy blanket you wrap yourself in during a Netflix binge, rolling from October to March 2023, followed by a sequel that had us howling from October to March 2024! Our glorious director, Toshiyuki Kubooka, is once again taking the helm, supported by character design sorceress Ayumi Kurashima and composition wizard Kazuyuki Fudeyasu. And hold onto your hats because the first season was just the tip of the iceberg! The second season introduced characters so electrifying they could power a small village! Introducing the thrilling Nephilim Hollow Arc (featuring Rie Takahashi as Rust and Kaito Ishikawa as Mordo), the mysterious Abyss City Arc (with Aki Kanada as Stude and Toru Sakurai as Araba), and the nail-biting GGC Arc (where Yumi Uchiyama brought the house down as Megumi Natsume, and Minami Takahashi morphed into Silvia Goldberg!). And guess what? Our main voice cast is a staggering assembly of talent that only a lucky lottery winner could ever put together:
- Yuma Uchida as Sunraku/Rakuro Hizutome – he plays games like he’s flossing in a shark tank.
- Azumi Waki as Psyger-0/Rei Saiga – because every hero needs a little sprinkle of badassery to their name.
- Yoko Hikasa as Arthur Pencilgon/Towa Amane – Yep, you heard me right, Pencilgon. Just roll with it; it’s probably magic!
- Makoto Koichi as Oicazzo/Kei Uomi – who wouldn’t want a name that sounds like a spell from your favorite RPG?
- Rina Hidaka as Emul – she’s the happy-go-lucky friend who boosts morale as effectively as granola bars at a yoga retreat.
- Akio Otsuka as Vysache – the enigmatic figure who sounds like he’s fresh out of an ’80s Saturday morning cartoon where everyone wore spandex.
Now, let’s talk turkey! This chaotic circus of phenomenal creativity is ripped straight from the minds of Ryosuke Fuji (art) and Katarina (story), adapting a web novel that’s had readers gripping their seats since May 2017 on Shosetsuka ni Naro like it was the last seat on the Titanic. The manga struts its stuff in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine and has been graciously licensed in English by the fabulous folks at Kodansha USA.
The saga follows our brave hero Rakuro Hizutome, aka Sunraku, who jumps headfirst into “shitty games” like they’re a buffet, only to discover the heavenly feasting ground of a “god-tier” game in Shangri-La Frontier. Armed with his trusty virtual sword, he bravely battles pixelated foes and forms friendships while laughing in the face of bugs and glitches like they’re his exes!
