Recently, two thrilling new games inspired by the Halloween series have been announced, with one of them already being revealed as a pixel art side-scrolling platformer.
It was announced by Boss Team Games yesterday that they are currently working on two games that draw inspiration from the Halloween series. One of these games is in the process of creation using Unreal Engine 5, with assistance from the original film director John Carpenter. While specific details are still limited, more information is available regarding the initial game. However, today at IGN, the unveiling of the second game took place, revealing it to be a retro arcade platformer with 16-bit graphics, set in the nostalgic ’90s era. The game, titled RetroRealms: Halloween, lets players step into the shoes of Michael Myers, wielding his iconic knife to slash through adversaries.
Alongside the Halloween-themed game, Boss Team Games also introduced another game under the RetroRealms lineup. This creation is another 16-bit pixel art platformer, this time based on Evil Dead. Players will guide Ash Williams in battling the undead using his chainsaw hand. Given the involvement of WayForward, known for the development of the Shantae series, this game is expected to be crafted with expertise.
