John Hight, who has been serving as the General Manager for the Warcraft franchise at Blizzard, has publicized his decision to depart from the company after an almost 13-year tenure.
Using his personal Twitter account earlier this week, Hight revealed that he will be exiting Blizzard to commence a new chapter in his career. With a track record of managing the Warcraft series at Blizzard for more than ten years, Hight boasts an extensive background in the gaming sector, having contributed to projects at The 3DO Company, EA, Atari, and Sony. His involvement included titles such as God of War 3 and the inception of the PlayStation Network.
In his Twitter statement, Hight conveyed appreciation for his time at Blizzard by saying, “After an amazing 12 years at Blizzard, I have chosen to make a new journey. While it was a challenging choice, I believe the timing is right: Warcraft is flourishing as it approaches its 30th anniversary. It has been an immense honor to support all the champions of Azeroth.” He further lauded the Warcraft community, describing them as the most enthusiastic, committed, and innovative in the gaming realm.
