This game, which has already set up a page on Steam featuring a playable demo, comes from a team spearheaded by Masha Mallet, an innovator and parent in search of strategic games tailored to her children. The studio’s fundamental principles revolve around inclusivity, pacifism, accessible strategy, and variety. But what about the gameplay itself? I was fortunate enough to test out the demo pre-launch and share my impressions.
Seen in its most recent trailer, Nif Nif entails all the crucial components and mechanisms expected in this genre. Players are tasked with constructing a deck utilizing action cards and resources, traveling through a randomly generated map brimming with diverse encounters and incidents, and striving to reach the height of power before confronting the ultimate foe. This is the focal point of the demo.
