Recall the revelation of Elden Ring? A picturesque moment at E3 2019, when FromSoftware, riding high on the triumph of Dark Souls and Bloodborne, revealed a fresh interpretation of their challenging fantasy RPG concept. It felt both familiar and innovative, introducing a new realm with a distinct spin. The eagerness leading up to embarking on this novel quest was undeniably remarkable, a sentiment I yearn to relive once more.
Presently, with the unveiling of Elden Ring’s significant expansion, Shadows of the Erdtree, I have delved into the new mythology and toyed with the fresh armaments and charms like an eccentric alchemist. Elden Ring has undeniably triumphed. Nevertheless, instead of capitalizing on its fame, I suggest that FromSoftware should return to the beginning and devise something original once again.
While the prospect of Elden Ring 2 is enticing, with the enchanting clues about the realm beyond Limgrave and the cosmic energies in motion, I believe it is dispensable. The Shapeless Matron, the imprisoned deity of Crimson Blight, and the ambitious constellations advancing towards astral destiny are all captivating aspects. Yet, plunging deeper into these enigmas and the destiny of The Lands Between post-Marika’s Golden Order may not be imperative.
