The community’s response to the recent revelations about a new, pricier edition of Escape from Tarkov has been overwhelmingly negative. This upgraded package has superseded its predecessor and is missing several previously promised add-ons, causing discontent among players.
Despite maintaining its reputation as a top-tier online FPS game and a frontrunner in the ‘retrieval’ subgenre, Escape from Tarkov’s pricing model and premium updates have always been a subject of debate. The introduction of the Unheard Edition appears to have further ruffled the feathers of the player base.
According to Battlestate Games, the Unheard Edition provides access to a cooperative PvE mode with continuous advancement, an expanded stash capacity (10×72), an exclusive in-game identifier, armlet, and assorted enhancements. This fresh cooperative mode appears distinct from the existing ‘Practice’ mode, which can be accessed as an add-on at a cost of approximately $10.70.
