Even though my time spent with No Rest for the Wicked has been limited, it has already left a lasting impression on me. I am convinced that Moon Studios made a wise choice by opting for an early access release.
While examining the feedback on Steam, some may view it as contentious, but I will confidently state this: No Rest for the Wicked has the potential to breathe new life into the Soulslike genre, which has struggled to establish a distinct identity for quite some time. It upholds the principles set by FromSoftware while also serving as an isometric action RPG with crafting components, differentiating itself from the conventional Diablo-style games.
Prior to the commencement of the early access phase, my exposure to No Rest for the Wicked was limited to its impressive initial trailer, which conveyed a more traditional aspect of the game despite its distinctive visuals. Nevertheless, the previews leading up to the release unveiled a dynamic action RPG that I had not predicted from Moon Studios’ project post-Ori.
