The world of Elden Ring was greatly influenced by the invaluable contributions of George R. R. Martin, indicating that FromSoftware may entertain similar collaborations down the road.
Although details about Martin’s involvement in the game remain somewhat mysterious, he is recognized for laying the foundation for Elden Ring. This distinction sets the game apart from FromSoftware’s other creations, serving as a distinctive feature. Bandai Namco has shown interest in the possibility of partnering with fantasy writer Brandon Sanderson, with the extent of this collaboration’s connection to FromSoftware remaining uncertain. Sanderson himself has displayed willingness towards this prospect. In a recent conversation with GameSpot, game director Hidetaka Miyazaki expressed readiness to contemplate another collaboration of this nature.
“The incorporation of George R. R. Martin’s tales and mythos has added considerable depth to Elden Ring, differentiating it from FromSoftware’s other games,” Miyazaki noted. “Delving into and interpreting his narratives was a rewarding journey for our team, presenting a rare opportunity for crafting worlds and bringing his vision to life on the screen.”
