The outcomes of the 2024 Pokemon TCG Illustration Competition have been revealed, and the winning entry has truly captivated me.
In an earlier part of this year, an event was organized by The Pokemon Company, inviting enthusiasts to submit their creative work for an opportunity to get it published on an official Pokemon Trading Card Game card (along with a reward of $5000 for the champion). The victor of this competition is the talented Kazuki Minami, and their endearing Pikachu card has stolen the spotlight. The artwork features Pikachu in a yawning pose while playfully scratching its head with its paw, radiating a lively essence that is undeniably noteworthy.
In a statement, Minami expressed their gratitude, stating, “I am deeply appreciative of this recognition. When I initially partook in the competition, I was uncertain about what to illustrate and how to portray it. It was during that instance that I spotted my adorable pet, which served as the inspiration for me to craft a Pikachu piece that mirrors my pet’s charisma. This accolade is not solely mine but also shared with my pet. We are both immensely thrilled and honored. Thank you.”
